It was just a talking point?

Thanks to Melting Mama for sharing this great video of a CBS New Anchor woman putting Mississippi State Rep. John Read on the hot seat over his co-authorship of Bill 282 which, if passed, would have banned obese people from eating in restaurants. He claims the bill is dead and never would have passed (ya think?), but they wanted to use it as a talking point to help people take note of the obesity problem.

Ahhh. I see. Apparently the obese are also blind because they can't see for themselves that they have a problem. So let's pretend we'll shame them if they don't get their act together. Oh, it got attention all right. And made Rep. Read and his cohorts look like the back side of horse. This is the best they could come up with?
