Product Review: Instone High Protein Pudding

I have two flavors, but have only tried the Milk Chocolate, which I'm reviewing here. I'm having a hard time describing this product. I think the word I'm looking for is...

YUCK

I really tried to like this pudding. I wanted to like it. I just can't force it down. The texture is right. Smooth and creamy.

But the taste.... I can taste the protein. Sorry. Pudding shouldn't taste like Pork Rinds. Chocolate pork rinds is all that comes to mind when I take a bite. *Just took another bite to confirm* Yep. Chocolate pork rinds. It's a weird aftertaste. But maybe I'm just one of those people with a sensitive palate.

Here's the nutrition info:

If you want to give this product a try for yourself, you might be able to find it at your local GNC or health food store. According to Netriton the company is currently in limbo and it's possible that the new owners may be manufacturing more soon. I can only hope they rework the taste as well.

I have the banana cream in my fridge as well, but I'm almost afraid to try it. I'll be sure to let you know if it's any better.

I tried the chocolate too, and couldn't force it down. Do these people think that we'll eat anything, just because it's low carb? Really now. The whole reason that we got into trouble in the first place is because we love food. What a waste!

Yeah.. it's nasty.

Thanks for your comment!

Chocolate is SO hard to do SF...I have never found anything (other that Guylian's SF dark chocolate bars) that is really good, chocolate-wise. My Bear likes the vanilla and the banana flavors of this pudding - hope the 'nana's better for you!

I hope the nana is better too. I don't think it could be worse! LOL

Have you ever tried Chocoperfection? I think it is by far the best sugar free chocolate ever made. So much so that it's ruined other sf chocolate for me. :) If I can't have chocoperfection, I don't want any sf chocolate at all. LOL

I am so with you on that protein pudding. I recently ordered a can each of vanilla and banana, and the vanilla was so disgusting I'm sort of afraid to try the banana one. Didn't really taste like pork rinds to me, but I thought it had an overwhelming soy taste that muddled the whole thing. I choked down about five bites before throwing the can away. Such a shame for how good the texture was and how low carb it was.

Hahah, these comments are amusing. Pork Rind tasting pudding? And I thought I had a problem with the concept of "Chocolate" Yogurt

LOL Shannon. I don't think I've tried chocolate yogurt. Doesn't sound so great though. I'm more of a yogurt n' berries kinda gal.
