Atkins Recipe and a Contest

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to tell you about my latest on Examiner. I gave a quick review of the new Atkins penne pasta and a yummy recipe. Just keep in mind that the penne is really suited to someone on maintenance. But it does taste great and if you are wanting the occasional pasta treat, this will work nicely.

Photography Stuff...

#2. My Mom bought me a new lens for my camera as a birthday gift. I got to experiment with it a little and had a lot of fun. It's a two-fer! Meaning I got a wide-angle panoramic and a super macro lens.

To vote for me, that is! My photos have been accepted into the contest I was telling you about. Here's how it works:

I entered 3 of my photos in an international contest our photography school is having. The top 100 pictures from each category will be chosen to continue on to the finals. Then the winners will be chosen from those 100 by a panel of judges. If I place any of my photos I can win a Nikon camera, my photo will be displayed with the other winners in New York at a special exhibit. The grand prize is a trip to New York for some amazing photo shoots! I'd love to win the camera as that would help me in acquiring the equipment I need for freelance work and my studio.

I simply can't believe it!!!!!

I just had to tell you this!!!

I checked Jimmy Moore's blog today to see if I'd won a prize in his 2nd Annual Blog Anniversary giveaway. Last year I won some ChocoPerfection bars, which are awesome by the way. I was hoping for a win of some kind - the CarbWars cookbook, which I've put off buying until after the contest, Fiberfit and books from Karen Rysavy (I already have all her books, but have never splurged for her sweetener). I'd have honestly been happy with any prize. I'm scanning down the page and seeing a lot of names, none of which are mine, but I'm happy for them none-the-less.

Now, imagine me sitting in the computer chair and nearing the end of the list. I do not see my name in any of the prize bundles. I'm disappointed, but you can't win them all. So I scroll down one more space to see who won the VCS4007 Gas Grill.... and it was ME!!!! I almost jumped out of my seat with excitement!!! I am on cloud nine and can't wait to cook on this bad boy! How awesome is this?!?! I've never won any major prize in my life. I rarely win the little stuff, ya know? So this has totally made my day!!

You can bet I'll be sharing new recipes from the grill this summer. :0)
