Kick me.. (ignore the sign)

I'm not wearing padding either....

I'm depressed right now. This is very unusual for me this time of year. I love Christmas. It's my favorite time of year. But this year I'm having a hard time getting into it. I've never had this problem before, so it's weird to feel this way.

I would venture to say part of it is exhaustion. This move took a lot out of me. It also took an awful lot out of our bank account, which is probably another reason I'm not feeling so festive. But I think the biggest part of the problems is that when I started preparing for the move, I got too busy to take care of myself. The result? In two short months I've regained about 10 lbs. No..that's incorrect. I've regained OVER 10 lbs. I was at 159 when I quit making progress. Now I'm at 171. That just royally stinks! It's depressing and frustrating. Anyway, I've changed my progress tickers to reflect the bad news.

My challenge now isn't to get back on track. The hardest part will be to overcome the emotions so I can get back on track. See, when I quit low-carbing, I slowly start having health issues. Most of them creep back on so slowly that I don't notice them until they are pretty bad. My depression issues are that way. I can manage without medications when I eat as I should. But when I start eating carbs they slowly edge back in. Then one morning I wake up, pull the covers back over my head and wish I could sleep forever. That's pretty much where I am now. I'm very frustrated with myself. I guess I should just be glad that I haven't gained it all back already. I think the only reason the damage is minor is because I did eat low-carb foods... just not all the time. There were way too many fast food places in my menu the last two months, and I didn't make good choices.

So, this is the start of a new day, right? I can get back on track and do my best to ignore my emotional roller coaster ride until I am well again. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself. Once again I'm going to use this blog to keep me on the up and up. I'll try to post daily if I can (except Sunday). Knowing that I need to check in may be just enough of a kick in the pants to help me get there.

So get your boots on and prepare for some exercise... my rear end is huge and you'll be kicking frequently.

I'm back.. sorta

Today is the first day in weeks I've had internet access. It's been tough and kind of nice at the same time. :0)

I got online to find over 400 emails in my inbox, 160 plus in my spam box, and loads of things to respond to.

The move was long and expensive, but thank the good Lord it's over with. Now I can concentrate on making the new place home. I've got most of the unpacking done, but there are still a few things left to do before I can declare myself finished.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'll be back to blogging shortly.. thanks for not giving up on me! :0)

Moving is a lot of work...

But I'm sure most of you know that already. I have the living room and dining room packed up, as well as parts of other rooms, so we'll take that stuff with us this weekend when we go work on the new house. With any help from the Lord, we'll have a usable bathroom before the weekend us up.

Hubby's Dr. appointment yesterday went well. They say his finger will be fine, but he'll need some rehab to get his full range of motion and feeling back. The other good news is he was released to use his hand this weekend, as long as he could do it without pain. So he's still limited in what he can do since his finger is still so tender, but he can at least use it some without worry of re-injury.

Thanks for all of the prayers that have been send our way!

HLCL Video Blog: Update

I decided to just do a quick video update for those subscribed to the youtube videos that may not read my blog. There are a few quick things my regular readers may enjoy as well.

(Just realized that the visitor count was actually 10,330.. not the 10,380 like I had stated.)

You can find the link to Carb Wars here, and the link to Good Calories, Bad Calories here. Jimmy Moore's Discussion Group on Good Calories, Bad Calories can be found here.

Hope to be back soon!

Not sure when I'll be back...

Too much to get into right now. Maybe I can give more details tomorrow.

The 2 biggest things keeping me busy right now..

#1 We are moving in 3 weeks. We have work to do on the new house before we can move in, plus packing and cleaning at the current house. We hope to be mostly settled by Thanksgiving.

#2 (Which will severely hamper item number one happening) Hubby broke his finger today. The shear at work hestitated just enough that some piece came crashing down on the tip of his finger with about 2000 lbs of pressure per square inch. His finger tip was essentally crushed. It fractured and fragmented it. We are praising God through it all. I was almost much worse. They said his split second reaction saved his finger. He could have lost it from the knuckle down. It's now in a little splint-like thing and is to stay there for 6 weeks. This means no pulling out bath-tubs and no lugging heavy furniture around. Looks like I'll be doing what I can on my own and begging for help elsewhere... ;0) But I'd rather he get better.

I'll try to post more later.. We'd appreciate any prayers we can get right now. We need all the help we can get.

Starting a new Boot Camp today...

(Kimkins reference deleted by Sparky's Girl)

I had a tough weekend. We spent Sat. helping my Grandmother move here from Oklahoma. We unloaded the truck, helped unpack, etc. By the time dinner rolled around I was starving and didn't have any acceptable foods on hand. I had caved into some pizza, but only enough to keep me from eating the counter tops. Then yesterday we had lunch at the house of some friends, so I didn't have a lot of control over the menu. I did the best I could, but it wasn't ideal. So I'm up 2 lbs this morning, but it's nothing lots of water and the treadmill won't take care of.

I lost my website...

So if you have tried coming here and got a message that the domiain had expired.. that's why. I haven't heard from my web host in months. I've tried to communicate with them, but nothing. Now my domain is expired and I can't contact them to fix it. :0(

Well, lots to do, still unpacking from the move.
