Hey everyone! I in the process of putting together another youtube video and hope to have it up later today. I'm finally going to get to show you that fantastic food scale I've been hinting about. So be sure to check back later!
Here's a couple of product reviews I did this afternoon on two items I tried earlier in the day. And before anyone feels the need to point it out, I know I said Monosodium wrong. I'm lucky I can even say my own name after the day I've had... :0)
I decided to just do a quick video update for those subscribed to the youtube videos that may not read my blog. There are a few quick things my regular readers may enjoy as well.
(Just realized that the visitor count was actually 10,330.. not the 10,380 like I had stated.)
You can find the link to Carb Warshere, and the link to Good Calories, Bad Calorieshere. Jimmy Moore's Discussion Group on Good Calories, Bad Calories can be found here.
I was pleasantly surprised today to check one of my favorite blogs, Livin' La Vida Low-Carb, and find that Jimmy had this post dedicated to raising the viewer and subscriber numbers to my Video Blog on YouTube! I'd like to send a huge thanks to Jimmy for helping promote my efforts. I appreciate your support! I also want to thank all of you who watch and subscribe. My subscriber numbers are growing nicely and I appreciate you taking the time to sign up! Feel free to spread the word!
And don't forget that very soon I'll be announcing that giveaway I mentioned earlier! :0)
Hey everyone! We finally have the 2nd video blog done. This still didn't turn out the way I'd hoped it would (phone rang, etc.), but it will have to do. Below the video I have some recipes for ya! :0)
Deviled Eggs Makes 12 servings
6 eggs 3 tbsp Real Mayo 1 tsp Yellow Mustard 1 tsp Red Wine Vinegar Salt and Pepper to taste
Place 6 eggs in a pan with water - enough to cover them. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to simmering. Cook 15 minutes. Drain and add cold water to pan. Let stand 2 minutes, then peel.
Cut eggs in half an scoop out yolks. In a bowl mash yolks up, then add mayo, mustard, vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix well. Scoop yolk mix into pastry bag with large tip and squeeze yolks into egg cavity. If you don't have a pastry bag you can just use a spoon to fill the egg whites. Sprinkle with paprika if desired. Cover and refridgerate.
1 box frozen chopped spinach (thawed and well drained) 1 cup real mayo 1 cup parmesean cheese 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 can artichoke hearts (diced)
Mix all together and place in pyrex baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake at 325F for 25 minutes (will be melted and bubbly). Serve with pork rinds, veggies, or low-carb tortilla chips.
Nutrition info: Per serving - 257 calories, 26 g fat, 6 g protein, 3 carb, 2 fiber, 17 mg cholesterol, 367 mg sodium.
Weight-loss has been non-existent for me. I've been so busy that I can't seem to make the time to eat properly. That is stopping as of today. I've printed off several new recipes and am going to do some prep work today to be sure I have the right foods on hand when I need them. No more eating on the run! And if I do need to eat on the go, I will be prepared.
Minor Subject change...
My children and I have been working on another video blog. We filmed the thing several times (I've lost count.. yeah.. THAT many times!) and we can't seem to get it to "come out" right. The one we tried last night is almost 13 minutes long! I'm afraid that's just a bit too much. What is sad is I probably edited out 2 or 3 more minutes, so it was longer. I think my biggest problem is the the kids distract me. I'm trying to think (and not say "uh" a billion times like I did in my last one) and they are looking at the webcam and making faces. This may be the only one I do with them, but I'm determined to do it because they have their hearts set on helping me with it. So...... hopefully someday soon I'll have it posted. Thankfully my new webcam came with software that allows me to edit, add titles, photos, and music. I'm gonna need it.
Sorta Subject change...
This blog has grown in ways I'd never imagined since I started it just over a year ago. We are quickly closing in on having our 10,000th visitor! To celebrate I will be giving away some low-carb items. I have a couple of the items now and am putting together the rest.. so keep watching for the announcement about it soon!
Major Subject change...
The photo I donated for the Silent Auction did well. I have not yet gotten the total, but I was told it was heavily bid on. Knowing that really encourages me. :0) I'll be sure to let you know what it sold for.
OK, I've finally decided to give video blogging a try. I've been hesitant because, quite frankly, I only wanted a video of me on this blog, not out in YouTube land where everyone and their dog might come across it. Makes me uncomfortable. So Blogger comes out with this feature to add video and I get all excited and film a short blogcast. Then when I try to upload it, it doesn't want to work for me. Go figure. So I finally caved in to the YouTube craze. We'll see how it goes.
The quality isn't great, but I'll work on fixing that. I filmed this with my digital camera, so it keeps trying to re-focus every time I move. Hope you don't get dizzy! LOL
So here it is. A quick review of a couple of frankenfoods. Tell me what you think? I'm an amature, so go easy on me. :0)
Weight Loss The scale was kind to me yesterday. I was down another 2/10ths of a lb, which put me at 171 even. I had a couple of rough days, where my eating wasn't ideal, but it wasn't non-low-carb either. I'm up about 1/2 a lb today, but that doesn't bother me.
Shoulder I had my last visit to the chiropractor today. Most of the pain was gone by Saturday night. By Sunday I felt normal. The Chiro checked me over and pronounced me healthy. So now I'm back to my old self.
Exercise I plan on starting some strength training tomorrow on our home gym. I'm ready to start firming up some of this jiggly stuff. I also don't want to deal with excess skin if I can avoid it, and strength training will help with that as well.
Weird Stuff I registered in a contest to win free laser hair removal several months ago. I got an email today telling me I'd won $300 worth of free services. They scheduled an appointment for me on Monday. The consultation is about 30 minutes long. I'm not convinced I should even go. I'd love to see about taking care of my legs, so I won't have to deal with shaving or wax anymore. But I have this sneaking suspicion that the $300 I won won't go very far. It's more than likely just a way to get my hiney in their door so they can bombard me with their expensive sale pitch. I also wonder how many others "won" $300 worth of services. Yeah.
Video Blogging This is an idea I've been toying with. I don't know if I can make it work. I haven't looked over all the requirements to make it happen. (Like does my digital camera film in the correct format.) But if I can, I thought it might be fun to use it once in a while. We'll see. I might just get a wild hair and do it once.

There is advertising on this blog. I have bills to pay and two kids to care for, so I have to do something, right? Other wise the blog goes bye-bye and I have to find a job outside the home (which takes me away from my kids and I don't want that. I homeschool and need to be here.) I try to carefully chose who I work with, but that doesn't always mean I endorse everything that advertiser may have to say or sell. Please keep that in mind when perusing the ads on this blog.
