New Low-Carb Blog!!!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to quickly tell you about a new low-carb blog. I believe you are going to find this blog fun, informative and entertaining. It's owned by none other than Karen Rysavy of Truly Low-Carb fame. With 8 years of low-carb experience under her belt and two fabulous cookbooks, she will have a lot to share with us! And right now she is having a fun contest called "Like a _____ low-carber _______" where you fill in the blanks. The winner gets a $25 gift certificate to the TLC store!
So be sure you check out her blog, contest and her great online support forum. I'm adding her blog to my favorites right now.... :)

Drive-By Blogging

Sorry. All I have time for today is a drive-by. I have a lot of work to do and a lot of schooling to catch up on. So here's the run down...

Must-Reads:

Tired of hearing the old "The Chinese aren't unhealthy and look at all the carbs they eat!!" mantra? Check out this study brought to our attention by Dr. Mike Eades. Then, as Dr. Mike suggests, keep this reference handy for the next time you encounter this question.

Is Candida or yeast sabotaging your weight loss efforts? If you are having problems losing weight, this very well could be the case. Check out this great blog post from my friend Jennier Eloff, author of several fabulous low-carb cookbooks (two of which I'll be reviewing soon). Be sure to check out her other great posts as well and leave her a comment! :)

Dr. John Briffa gives us more evidence that using BMI is just bunk when it comes to assessing health.

Ok.. all I have time for right now. Maybe I can sneak back in later with more.

Some links for you to persue...

I'm going through some stuff that I don't really care to talk about, and it's making it hard for me to think straight. I can't really seem to put a lot of effort into a post because my attention span seems to equal that of a toddler right now. So today I'm going to share some interesting links and leave it at that.

New Video Blog
Fellow blogger Mark McManus, from MuscleHack.com, has joined us in the YouTube world. His first episode is a nice tutorial on making easy and delicious low-carb substitutes. Be sure to check it out and tell Mark how much you enjoyed his video!

Margin Notes by Casey Ellis

Casey Ellis has a wonderful blog that any food enthusiast will love! Her writing style is fun and classy. Be sure to check out the right hand margin for some fantastic low-carb recipes!

Jimmy Moore Shares the Top 20 Worst Foods in America for Calories

Interesting New Blogs...

I just thought I'd list some new blogs I've recently come across. They may not all be new to you.. but they are to me. :0)

  • Diet King: Adam Wilk is a fellow-lowcarber and writer who's just trying to make sense of it all. He has a great sense of humor and tells it like he's sees it.

  • Diet Pulpit: I believe you'll find a little bit of everything here. Yeah... I think that sums it up.

  • The Low Carb Band-It: (I love this name!) This blogger suffers from PCOS and Fibromyalgia. In 2005 she had a lapband procedure and is now low-carbing for her health as well as weight loss.

  • Shrinking Away: Another blogger who is honest about life and weight loss.

    One non-low-carb blog to mention:

  • Ms. Tina: She's an old friend of mine and has just started blogging. Her blog is about technology education, music, life, and futuristic ideas. She's a Technology Director and piano teacher (used to be mine when I lived near her) who lives in Oklahoma. If any of these topics interest you, please go check her out and say hello!
